Pet Partners, Angel Paws' national affiliate, is proud to be the only national therapy animal program aligned with the International Association of Human Animal Interaction Organization (IAHAIO) recommendations for therapy animals and the only nationally recognized therapy animal registry that meets all “Guidelines for animal-assisted interventions in health care facilities” published by the Association of Professionals in Infection Control (see below comparison chart and full copy of the AJIC Guidelines) and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA).

ANGEL PAWS is the only Therapy Animal Organization in 
Central Ohio to provide the following:
  1. Both Registered Pet Partners® Community Partner & R.E.A.D.® affiliate group status with access to both organization’s extensive international on-line network of resources.
  2. Comprehensive, Standards based, Program Planning, Implementation & Community Outreach for both Therapeutic Health Care Visitation and R.E.AD.® programs.
  3. Trained & Licensed Pet Partners® Evaluator since February 2003
  4. Trained & Licensed Pet Partners® Instructor since 2012.
  5. Trained R.E.A.D.® Instructor since July 2005
  6. Licensed R.E.A.D. Instructor providing Regional R.E.A.D. Training Workshops since 2013
  7. On-Going, Local Volunteer Training, Evaluation & Support

READING EDUCATION ASSISTANCE DOGS®
  

(R.E.A.D.®) is the only national organization 
to provide the following:

  1. TRAINED LITERACY MENTORS - Extensive research and development necessary to provide and require therapy animal handlers to complete additional training to  incorporate their registered therapy animals into safe and effective literacy mentoring sessions.
  2. PROGRAM PLANNING & IMPLEMENTATION - Comprehensive, standards based program planning and implementation.
  3. ON-GOING SUPPORT NETWORK - The internet members only R.E.A.D.® Forum provides an invaluable “real time” resource of experienced R.E.A.D.® program leaders and individual R.E.A.D.® teams nationwide to share  innovative ideas and experience with others.
