We really need your help & it's a lot of fun!   Learn (and/or teach!) about digital photography, photo editing and printing!  

Volunteer Opportunities Include -  Santas, photographers, printers, pet wrangler/creative directors, sales/registration, Paw Prints in Heaven Memorial Tree Hostess.  Pre-event –planning & craft making - Transport and Set-Up.  

Volunteer Service Positions

 SANTA PAWS is Angel Paws' primary annual fundraiser held at 
Wilson's Garden Center Thanksgiving Weekend 
(Sunday only this year) 
AND the following Saturday & Sunday  in December

2015 Dates - Sunday November 29th  (no Saturday - Go Bucks!)
AND December 5th & 6th from 11am to 4pm
Volunteers to arrive by 10:00!

All proceeds from Santa Paws and donations to Light Up A Paw Print In Heaven Memorial Tree (*see below) help Angel Paws volunteers continue to share the magical benefits only a cold wet nose, furry toes and wagging tail can offer those in need via Therapeutic Health Care Visits & Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.) Literacy Mentoring Sessions.

Pre/Post Event Help Needed

1. Mailing Prep - Possibly in your home!  Flyers out before end of October, Postcards out by mid-November.  Christmas Cards out ASAP after Santa Paws.  Printing, collating, stuffing, sealing, address stamping envelopes for flyers. Printing & address stamping post cards.
   
2. Frame Decorating - Get your glue gun ready!  Spray painting frames & tiny bones, decorating with ribbons and tiny bones.
   
3. Craft making - additional crafts as needed
   
4. Memorial Tree Load/Transport/Set-up - transport and set up for Wilson's Christmas Preview mid-November
   
5. Santa Paws Load/Transport/Set-up - during week prior to event.  Need large vehicle (truck or SUV)
   
6. Load/Transport Home - Need large vehicle (truck or SUV)

Event Positions  (at least 4 volunteers are absolutely necessary for this event to happen, 5 if we don't have a photo editor but we usually do!  5 is best to have 2 Registration volunteers)

1. Santa - We provide the Santa Suit!  You provide the smile!  Must be good with animals, especially dogs and often multiple dogs & family members at a time.  No need to pretend to actually BE Santa, except for the rare young child, it's all about the photo!
   
2. Photographer - Experience preferred but not 100% necessary.  We provide a Digital Canon 60 D SLR with attached flash or bring your own comparable camera.  Lighting equipment and experience definitely a plus!!!
   
3. Photo Assist/Creative Director/Pet Wrangler - helps photographer with wrangling/posing pets, keeps photo cards and registration cards straight for printer, makes sure Santa's costume and set is photo ready, provides gift bags for guests.  Multi-tasking!
   
4. Registration Hosts/Hostesses (2) - Hostesses (and hosts) with the mostest!  Welcomes and registers guests. Instructs and helps guests choose photo packages - sells! :)  (all proceeds benefit Angel Paws!)  Sets the tone for fun! 
   
5. Photo Editor/Printer (usually filled) - uploads photos, edits photos, prints photos.
6. Memorial Tree Host/Hostess - Welcomes and explains Light Up a Paw Print in Heaven Memorial Tree.  Sweet and touching stories. 
   
7. Event Backup Positions - always need backups for last minute cancellations!

If you have never been to Wilson's at Christmastime you're in for a treat!  Wilson's is easy to find and conveniently located on Rt. 16 in Newark just east of The Longerberger Basket. 

Although Wilson's is easy to spot from Rt #16 you will need to turn north on Marne Rd. (which appears as E. Main St. on the map below but is labeled with a sign as Marne Rd. on the intersection with 16) then take an immediate left on Lambs Rd. (labled Marne Rd. on the map) and track back to Wilson's.

OUR 2013 TREE WILL BE UP from NOVEMBER 22nd  (for Wilson's Christmas Preview) AND WILL REMAIN ON DISPLAY THROUGH DECEMBER 24th!  Angel Paws' Light Up a Paw Print In Heaven Memorial Christmas Tree was donated by Wilson's Garden Center in honor of Angel Paws Pet Partners Samantha & Yankee who crossed the Rainbow Bridge early in 2010 and ALL our beloved Angel Paws Therapy Pets who have passed on.  Angel Paws offers all pet lovers in our community the opportunity to send a loving message up to their own pets in heaven by writing their pets name on a special paw print to hang on the tree and illuminate it's own individual light to Light Up A Paw Print in Heaven!   Angel Paws is happy to Light up A Paw Print, Illuminate it's LIght and post a photo on facebook and/or email it to you to share with friends and family too!  Just click HERE to open our Facebook Cause Page to make a donation if you would like the photo shared on facebook or HERE to open our donation page if your not on facebook.   Please be sure to to let us know the name of your pet and where you would like it shared!.  Thank you to all who participate in both our Santa Paws Pet Portraits & Light Up a Paw Print In Heaven Memorial Christmas Tree.  We look forward to seeing you all again every year!
