Sadly, even Therapy Pet's Must Eventually Leave Us ...  BUT ...

"For not one vibration that is arisen,

not one, does not effect each of us that is called
to drop a pebble into a bucket of water.
It ripples on forever and forever, though it appears to be in stillness again."

Our Dearest Samantha, Yankee, Alex, Rosey, Rupert & Maddie
(& so many more from our wonderful pet loving community)
you touched so many lives with your special kind of love.
You were loved and will be missed by many!

It's always so very sad to loose any pet and especially a Therapy Pet but early 2010 was a particularly  difficult time for Angel Paws.  First we lost Yankee who was a mainstay not only in our R.E.A.D. program but also nearly all of our community events including long days at the Thornville Backwoods Festival and as our Neutral Dog for our required Delta Society Pet Partners Skills & Aptitude Tests.  Then it was Samantha's turn to join her friend on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.   Samantha, our founding Therapy Dog, & Yankee were close pals to the end sharing many hours at numerous community events together - inspiring the younger Angels.

In loving memory of my sweet precious angel - my heart & soul! "Sami" was a registered Delta Society Pet Partner from 1999 to 2010 & Reading Education Assistance Dog from 2004-2010. As Angel Paws' founding Therapy Dog Samantha accumulated over 319 documented hours of service & helped to train over 30 registered Pet Partner human/animal volunteers. Sami was loved and will be missed by many. I'll love you forever Sami - my sweet precious Angel!

Thanks so much to Yankee, Angel Paws Therapy/R.E.A.D. dog, for over 175 hours of loving service to Angel Paws at Autumn Health Care, Licking County Library, Kairos Academy, 'Lil Puppy Tails at Indian Mound Mall, The Backwoods Fest and many more! Yankee also served as Angel Paws' trusty Neutral Dog for our Pet Partners evaluations and attended many special events.  You were beloved and will be missed by SO many!

Alex was a Belgiun Tervern owned by Chuck Ross.  Alex accumulated over 30   hours of service as a Delta Society Pet Partner and Angel Paws Therapy Dog visiting Autumn Health Care and Shepherd Hill Behavioral Health, a department of Licking Memorial Hospital.  Alex was a sweet old soul even as a young pup and quite the athlete well into his senior years.

Rosey was a Shetland Sheepdog owned by Anita Moran.  Rosey accumulated over 30 hours of service as a Delta Society Pet Partners and Angel Paws Therapy Dog visiting Flint Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation.  Rosey was another sweet old soul and lived with a number of poodles she mentored in the area of responsible companionship.

Rupert was Angel Paws' first (and only to date) Therapy Guinea Pig owned by Sally McClaskey & her daughter.  Rupert accumulated  25 hours of service as a Delta Society Pet Partner and Angel Paws Therapy Pig visiting Autumn Health Care.  Rupert converted many a person who initially thought he was "too much like a rodent" to warm up to - they all grew to love him dearly and Rupert will, along with all our other Therapy Dogs he joins across the Rainbow Bridge, be missed by many!

MADISON

Maddie, an English Mastiff, was not only one of our founding Therapy Dog's but also our poster girl.  She and her owner, Gloria Goodwin volunteered with Angel Paws for our 1st 2 years of existence and a decade later her image is still ever present on our brochures and facebook page.  As both an Angel Paws' Pet Partner and Reading Education Assistance Dog (R.E.A.D.) volunteer Maddie provided 100 hours of service to Angel Paws at Flint Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation and in our R.E.A.D. program at both Licking County Library and Kairos Academy.  She also joined us at special events including The  New Albany Classic Grand Prix & Family Day and  Indian Mound Mall fundraising activities.  And she had the most velvety soft ears ever!  Maddie was loved and will be missed by many, young and old.

And blessings to all who join our dearly departed  therapy pets -  2010 LIGHT UP A PAW PRINT IN HEAVEN MEMORIAL CHRISTMAS TREE at Wilson's Garden Center  - You are ALL true Angels now! ...
... and thanks so much for your support that will help us continue their legacy that will continue to live on through Angel Paws.  We hope to see you again!
